Apotheosis
The Elevation of the Human to the Divine
Philosophy
Apotheosis (from the Greek apo + theos) is the transformation of a human being into something divine. In Greek mythology, heroes like Heracles achieved apotheosis after death. In Renaissance art, it depicted the soul ascending to the heavens.
In The Holy & the Grail, apotheosis is reframed: not a posthumous reward, but a biological and spiritual journey available to every living body.
In The Holy & the Grail
Tonia Mavrommati uses apotheosis to describe the highest possibility of human transformation through science, nutrition, and consciousness.
