Kalokagathia

The Ancient Greek Ideal of Beauty Fused with Virtue

Philosophy

Kalokagathia (kalos kai agathos) is the ancient Greek concept uniting physical beauty (kalos) with moral goodness (agathos). Not vanity, but the belief that the body is an expression of inner virtue. In classical Athens, a beautiful body reflected a beautiful soul.

How is kalokagathia linked to our genes? The answer lives inside the book.

In The Holy & the Grail

Tonia Mavrommati revives this concept to argue that nutrition, movement, and biological care are not vanity but acts of moral and spiritual alignment.
