Panacea
The Goddess of Universal Remedy
Mythology
Panacea (Πανάκεια) was the Greek goddess of universal remedy, daughter of Asclepius, the god of medicine. Her name literally means “all-healing.” In ancient medicine, the search for a panacea was the search for one substance that could cure everything.
Modern science has abandoned this idea, but the impulse remains in every longevity molecule, every wonder drug, every biohacker's stack.
